HUNDREDS of students have flocked to the city to begin their journey at Worcester University.

With the new term starting, activities have been organised for students to take part in which are designed to ease them into university life.

Welcome Week – also known as Freshers’ Week – has started which introduces newcomers and encourages people to take part in events to meet new friends.

These are the activities that are taking place throughout the week:

There will be fresh doughnuts available tomorrow (Tuesday, September 17) from 10am until 3pm outside the Student Union. Members of the Christian Union will be at a stand giving out doughnuts and will be available for a chat.

Students can get their brainboxes working with the Big Quiz which will take place tomorrow at The Hangar from 8pm until midnight.

On Wednesday, there’s the Clubs and Societies Fair in the Sports Centre between 10am and 3pm. This will give students the chance to show their interest and find out more about what’s on offer. Over 40 sports clubs and 30 societies are available at the university.

On the night, there’s Worcester Wednesday, which is the biggest student night in Worcester. Students meet in The Hangar from 6pm.

The university will be hosting a Colour Run on Friday where students will have powdered paint thrown at them as they complete the route around the grounds. The run will take place between 12pm and 2pm on St John's campus.

For karaoke lovers, The Hangar is the place to be, which will kick start from 8pm on Friday.

To finish off the week, on Sunday the Students’ Union are holding a Film Night. A poll will be put out soon for people to vote which film they’d like to watch.
