HERE’S the round-up of what cases have been heard at Worcester Magistrates Court this week.

A man kicked a young policewoman in the head on her first night shift a court heard.

John Moss admitted assault by beating of an emergency worker, being drunk and disorderly and obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday (September 5).

The assault happened to PC Molly Smith on her first night shift when she was in her first week of shifts for the force.

A man drove down the M5 while under the influence of cocaine.

Graham Sutherland, 59, appeared before magistrates in Worcester on August 29 via video-link from HMP Oakwood.

He pleaded guilty to two charges of driving a Honda CRV down the M5 Southbound in Worcestershire with benzoylecgonine, a by-product of cocaine in his system.

The offences happened on March 30 this year, and magistrates banned Sutherland from driving for 12 months, as well as fining him £100 for each offence with a £15 victim surcharge on top of each fine.

The magistrates did not order costs to be paid as he is already serving a prison sentence.

A woman has been fined after admitting a charge of drink driving.

Michelle Lamb, 54, of Tannery Drive, Powick, appeared before magistrates in Worcester charged with driving while over the legal alcohol limit.

The charges state that on May 10 this year, she drove her Ford Fiesta in Worcester while over the legal alcohol limit.

Lamb changed her original plea of not guilty to guilty and magistrates banned her from driving for 12 months.

She was also fined £80 in addition to a £30 victim surcharge and costs of £100.

A woman from Malvern has been banned from driving and fined after she admitted drink driving.

Denise Green, 63, of Wells Road, Malvern, was seen by police officers in her car on August 8 with a bottle of wine in the drinks holder.

She had been at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital visiting her husband, and she failed a roadside breath test.

Magistrates banned her from driving for 12 months and fined her £120 in addition to a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £135.
