Tonya O’Donnell, one of the organisers said: “Events like this are absolutely vital for the community.

“We have got a steel band playing this year and a classic car show so we really want it to appeal to as many people as possible.

“It is always well attended, with people having a sit down on the grass with a drink and just generally having a great time.”

Also on this weekend, the Alfrick and Lulsley show returns for the 68th time on Saturday, September 7.

The show features a horticultural marquee and ‘exemption’ dog show, visitors will be able to enjoy a host of side stalls and attractions, including a licensed bar, teas and cakes in the village hall, a selection of delicious food stalls including Asian street food, wood fired pizza, gourmet burgers and ice cream.
