A REDDITCH school is in the final of a prestigious competition and could win up to £100,000.

St Thomas More Catholic First School will represent the arts and education category at the national final of a campaign by housebuilder Persimmon.

The school, in Studley Road, is working to develop a school environment, including both extensive improvements to the building and outdoor spaces.

The prize money would help strengthen community links, providing even more activities for children to enhance their confidence, education and wellbeing.

The campaign is being delivered through the Persimmon Charitable Foundation, which last year donated £620,000 to support children’s sport.

Online voting has now started and will run until September 27.

People can vote for the school at persimmonhomes.com/building-futures.

The winners will be announced in October.

Andrew Peters, from Persimmon, said the campaign aims to create a lasting legacy for young people and the groups that support them.
