HERE are a few of the most notable cases heard at Worcester Magistrates Court over the last week.

A HOMELESS man stole prescription drugs from behind the counter of a pharmacy on three occasions.

Robin Lunn, of St Pauls Hostel, Worcester appeared in court on Thursday and given a suspended jail sentence.

A DRINK driving matter was adjourned due to special circumstances.

Chloe Strickland-Eales of Tibberton, Droitwich, appeared in court on Thursday, August 15 for a drink driving charge

Meanwhile, Anthony Lawley, 49, of Farne Avenue, Worcester, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on August 8 charged with five counts of making indecent images of children and one count of distributing indecent images of children.

The charges stretch from 2012 to 2017 and all occurred in Worcester and around the county.

He indicated a plea of guilty, and magistrates sent the case to crown court, where he will be sentenced on September 6.

And Magistrates heard how Brian Hewson, 60, of Rothwell Road, Malvern, having trespassed in a field at Chestnut Hill, ran into the field “Shouting, waving his arms around and taking hold of the tractor” which was mowing the grass in the field with the intention of disrupting the activity.

Hewson was handed a 12-month conditional discharge and fined a total of £155 after pleading guilty to the charge.

Daniel Beard, 30, of Canal Side, Worcester, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court where he indicated a guilty plea to possession of a class A drug, as well as breaching a conditional discharge relating to possession of cannabis.

He was fined £375.
