GENEROUS donations of money left over from a bingo group was split between local good causes.

Catherine Hemming called at the Moreton in Marsh Bingo for 17 years. She said: "I just thought it would be nice to put the money into something local. Everyone seemed very pleased with the money. We hope it will be put to good use."

After giving up calling Mrs Hemming continued to help organise the bingo for three years.

On Friday July 12 at the doctor's surgery Moreton in Marsh, cheques were handed over to four causes, one to the Mann Cottage Surgery for £700, one to Whitehouse surgery for £700, one to Cotswold Friends ( Men in Sheds ) for £700 and a cheque for £875 to Redesdale Hall Committee for refurbishment.

The money was collected weekly by the Bingo organisers which was started at The Wellington Inn, then moved to Royal British Legion. This has now been disbanded and all the money was distributed to the charities.
