TWO sisters are holding a charity evening this weekend to mark what would have been their fundraising mother's 60th birthday.

Bromsgrove woman Lynda Badger died from breast cancer in 1991, aged just 32, when her two daughters were only 10 and seven.

While battling cancer, Lynda threw herself into a host of fundraising events, raising cash for hospital departments and breast cancer charities that helped her during her treatment.

With that in mind, her daughters Karen Perry and Kim Badger decided to do something special to mark what would have been a milestone occasion.

Karen said: "As she would have been 60 this year we wanted to create an event in her memory and continue the fundraising effort.

"Our mum was a Bromsgrove lady and was very well known, and loved by everyone who knew her. So we wanted to do this for her."

The charity evening is taking place at Droitwich Rugby Club on Saturday (July 13) featuring two singers.

There will also be a bouncy castle for children, a hog roast, raffle, auction, sweet cart, photo booth and magicians.

Only a few tickets are remaining for the event - email karenperry81@yahoo.co.uk for more details.
