HERE are some of the latest Magistrates Court results from the last week.

Joseph Keyte, 29, of Ross Crescent, Worcester, appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates charged with driving while under the influence of drugs.

On January 25 this year, Keyte drove a Ford Focus in Cheltenham while under the influence of cocaine, benzoylecgonine, which is a by-product of cocaine, and cannabis.

Keyte was banned from driving for 36 months and fined £235.

Abbie Bowman, 19, of Gazala Drive, Norton, appeared before magistrates in Worcester charged with assault.

She pleaded not guilty to the charge of assault by beating, which happened on January 22 this year.

Magistrates dismissed the charge due to no evidence being offered, and, on acquittal, put in place a restraining order against her contacting three individuals, as well as going to Somers Park Avenue in Malvern.

The order will last until 2021.

Magistrates also granted an application to retain an unspecified amount of cash, believed by the prosecution to be more than £1,000.

Laura King, 27, of Kiln Crescent, Worcester, appeared before magistrates in Worcester on July 2 accused of assault by beating.

She denied the charge, which was that on February 13 this year, she assaulted the victim in Worcester.

However, District Judge Nigel Cadbury found her guilty and handed down a six-month conditional discharge.

She was also fined £120 for the offence.

Marcus Hanke, 48, of Bromsgrove Road, Clent, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on July 2 charged with speeding.

The charge stated that on October 13, last year, Hanke drove a Porsche on the M5 over the 70 mph speed limit.

Hanke pleaded guilty to the charge, changing from his original not guilty plea.

He was fined £621 in fines, compensation and a victim surcharge, as well as being given three penalty points on his licence.

Carol Ann Williams, 70, of Cherry Orchard, Pershore, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on July 4 charged with arson after setting fire to her flat.

Shafquat Reaz, prosecuting said: “The substantial fire nearly collapsed the first floor of the building.”

Magistrates sent the case to Worcester Crown Court where it will be heard on August 7 at 9.15am.

She was granted unconditional bail until then.
