ADVENTUROUS employees from a Bromsgrove have raised a mountainous amount through a steep charity challenge.

More than £6,000 has been raised by 13 staff from electrical firm Barrie Beard Ltd who completed the Three Peaks Challenge.

All 13 finished the challenge - of climbing the highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) - in less than 24 hours.

Billy Banyard, Warren Beard, Dan Cattell, Mark Clamp, Nick Godfrey, Rob Griffin, Tom Gwinnett, Sarah Harrod, Liam Healey, Tom Jolley, Jamie Pemberton, Matt Tongue, and Josh Whyte were the employees who took on the challenge.

The money they have raised will be split between three charities - SANDS (Stillbirth and neonatal death charity), Primrose Hospice, and Target Ovarian Cancer.

Donations can still be made at justgiving.com/teams/BARRIEBEARDS-3PEAKSCHALLENGE.

A company spokesperson said: "On behalf of the BB Ltd 3 Peaks Team and all of us at Barrie Beard Ltd, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated to the three worthy causes and supported the challengers.

"Also a big thank you to the drivers, Russell Beard, John Barnes, Kevin Mills, Adam Woodward and Simon Harrod, who ‘ferried’ our team between mountains; the team couldn’t have done it without your support.

"All 13 challengers completed the 3 Peaks Challenge in under 24 hrs. They were all exhausted but thrilled to have taken part.

"The JustGiving website is still accumulating donations, but they have smashed through the target of £6,000. Well done to everyone concerned."
