A DEVELOPER behind the building of homes on the outskirts of Evesham is looking to amend original outline consent.

Redrow Homes built 70 properties in Aldington Lodge, after receiving planning permission, but is now looking to amend the orginal consent in relation to the relocation of access onto Offenham Road, car parking and infrastructure.

The outline application was resubmitted, but with the change "without compliance with condition 8 (to amend junction improvement works plans)", varying the condition to amend the junction access.

A decision is to be determined by Wychavon planners.

The original scheme was rejected by the planning committee at Wychavon District Council in April 2014, following officers advice to not approve it, but this later overturned on appeal.

A consultation has been held for residents to have their say.

Among the responses in the consultation was Colin Costello, of Lodge Park Drive, who said: "The entrance from Offenham into Lodge Park Drive is extremely hazardous in its current form as it is poorly lit and is barely wide enough for two cars to pass each other on, especially given the speeds of the cars passing on Offenham road.

"It is only a matter of time before there is a serious accident.

"I hope that this application is thrown out and they are made to honour their commitments in the original application."

Denise Banister, also of Lodge Park Drive, added: "There is no street lighting at all, this is much more dangerous for pedestrians especially in the winter months as you can't see where you are walking.

"The pavements are damaged and uneven dangerous for able bodied let alone any disabled access. Cars constantly exceed the speed limits.

"Making this junction right was a condition of the original planning why should Redrow escape this responsibility?"

The consultation ended earlier this month, and the application is now set to go before the committee.
