A HEREFORD charity are hosting a 100-mile cycle challenge as they raise money to continue helping Herefordshire families who lose a son or a daughter in a car crash.

The ELY Memorial Fund was set up in memory of Emma Louise Young who tragically lost her life in a road traffic accident when she was just 23.

The challenge, on Sunday, June 23, will have fives routes to suit people with different abilities, including a family route.

Charity manager Angela Tyler said: We would like to say: "The event is in aid of the ELY Memorial Fund which provides a one-off condolence gift up to £3,000 to pay for a basic funeral if a family residing in Herefordshire tragically lose a son or daughter aged between 17-25 years in a road traffic collision.

"We are also proud to be proactive for the public benefit in campaigning for road safety especially young people of Herefordshire"

The proposed routes will take in part of the Black & White Village Trail of Herefordshire. The routes will be 25miles, 50 miles, 75 miles and 100 miles. There will also be a 10 mile family route which will be marshalled.
