SOLICITORS from Thursfields have decided to don their walking boots and are taking on a sponsored walk in aid of New College Worcester, a college for young people who are blind or partially sighted.

They are encouraging other local people to take part and join them in this family friendly event.

The ride takes place on Sunday, June 8 and the 7 mile route, beginning at Bewdley, follows the River Severn to Arley before the last leg ending at The Ship Inn, Highley.

Walkers can enjoy tea and cake followed by a relaxing ride on the Severn Valley Railway back to Bewdley.

Julia Warrilow, director of finance and operations at Thursfields Solicitors, has signed up and said, "I decided to take part to help raise awareness for the great work done by New College Worcester.

"I have heard it’s a wonderful walk and look forward to the journey back on the Severn Valley Railway and of course the tea and cakes."

Kevin Hateley, head of fundraising, added: "We’d love to have even more walkers this year, last year was amazing and the atmosphere and sense of achievement was fantastic.

"We are very grateful to Thursfields Solicitors for all their support through sponsoring the event and also taking part.

"All the money raised from this event goes towards supporting the young people at the college who are blind or partially sighted."
