WITH Strictly Worcestershire only being a matter of days away, a married couple have spoken out why they are partaking in the charity dance competition for their second time.

For Tracy and Tony Lowe, the tables are about to be turned – rather than them judging they are to be judged. Tracy Lowe of Lowe’s solicitors, a family law firm in Foregate Street, and her husband His. Honour Judge Anthony Lowe are taking to the stage in support of the Worcestershire Ambassadors mental health charities and raising money themselves for Worcester Acorns Children’s hospice.

Although the couple had entered the charity competition two years ago, they are putting on their dancing shoes once more.

Mr Lowe added: “Any concerns the other couples had that we had some sort of advantage was soon dispelled when they saw me dance.”

For Mrs Lowe, Acorns is a charity close to her heart having herself suffered loss. So, to boost funds for the charity and get to dance before 800 people again is a perfect combination.

Mr Lowe’s view of the dancing is slightly different, adding: “Suffering and sacrifice come to mind but will I see redemption and resurrection on May 23? But raising money for mental health charities is worth all the effort.

“Sitting in Shrewsbury Crown Court many cases I deal with have their roots in mental health issues – the earlier help is available the less likely those with mental health issues will fall foul of the criminal justice system.”

Speaking about the event, Mrs Lowe said: “I am really excited to be dancing again and to the excitement of such a fabulous evening and enjoying the glitz and glamour of it all.

“I have loved working with our fabulous dance teacher, Sharon Tilki again.”

Established in 1988, Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust is a charity offering a network of care for life limited and life threatened babies, children and young people and their families.

The eight couples are intensifying their practice sessions, as the black tie event - organised by Worcestershire Ambassadors, is looming and set to take place on May 23 at the Chateau Impney in Droitwich. For more information, visit www.strictlyworcestershire.co.uk/
