A HAIR and beauty boutique that promotes individuality and diversity has opened in the city.

Journey Hair and Beauty Boutique, in Copenhagen Street, Worcester aims to provide “something for everyone.” The boutique has employed seven members of staff, all of whom worked together previously, and each specialise in something different.

Lloyd Baker, aged 30 said: “We are all about individuality. The people that come in here are so diverse. It is a luxury salon and there is something for everyone.

“Journey is a unique space and we are soley customer service driven. We aim to take the customer on their own journey of hair and beauty. The staff are masters in their own right and have their own skills.

“Everything about Journey has been carefully curated for the Worcester customer with the objective of putting the customer first. This is no ordinary hairdressers. It is a fun place to meet your friends, have a change of hairstyle or tackle a skin challenge or merely just take some “me time.”

Mr Baker, who has been hairdressing for 10 years, added: “We have no titles here. We want everyone to feel equal.”

Caroline Hatfield, aged 35, said: “So many of our clients know each other from coming in here and socialising.

“From our research and knowledge of the Worcester client we know that clients want to have fun, feel special and make memories, sharing those moments with friends and family in a community that is more than just about hairstyles.

“It is a nice little team who work here, and it does not feel like I am coming into work each day.”

Journey was officially open for business on March 5, however the launch party was held on May 1, where Heart Breakfast presenter, Ed James, paid a visit to the store as a guest.

Mr James said: “I support anyone injecting anything new for locals. Journey is different - it is a London style boutique with the best treatments on your door step. It feels like a luxury hotel – and it is more than just hair, it is about self care.”

Journey are the first store in Worcester to introduce a range of products from Australia’s skincare company, Gaylia Kristensen, which focuses on using natural products.

Gaylia Kristensen, founder said: “I am delighted that my products are a part of the Journey story in Worcester. It feels right that the specialists there are using exquisite natural pordcust to achieve unparalled results.”
