MOTHERSHIP will be touching down this March at The Artrix in Bromsgrove, with a tribute to the legendary Led Zeppelin.
Fans of the supergroup might well experience a stairway to Heaven when they hear all the classic hits, with a whole lotta love.
Described in Classic Rock Magazine as “the most authentic-sounding Zep tribute in the UK”, Mothership present a brand new show celebrating the music of one of the greatest rock bands in history.
Formed back in 1968, Led Zeppelin consisted of guitarist Jimmy Page, singer Robert Plant, bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham.
They are often hailed as one of the originators of heavy metal, but other influences included blues, psychedelia, and folk music.
A spokesman said: “Mothership has recently returned from its third European tour. More homage than tribute, Mothership aren’t interested in wigs, pantomime costumes and pretending that they’re stuck in the seventies, but rather concentrate on an authentic musical experience, with what Planet Rock described as “CD-quality Zeppelin”.
They cover all the classics, including Black Dog, Kashmir and Whole Lotta Love, but they’ve developed their international reputation by throwing in some great surprises, too, so the audience should expect the unexpected.
The spokesman added: “Fronted by the remarkable Matt Vaggers on vocals, you won’t hear a closer match to Robert Plant. The rest of the band are right there with him and the night will be one to remember for any fan of this iconic music.”
Tickets for Mothership at Artrix on Saturday March 16, from 7.30pm, are available by calling 01527 577330 or from artrix.co.uk
