MOVE over gin and tonic; what about gin and jazz at Worcester Arts Workshop?

And ever better, this will be a rare opportunity to see and hear the man who gave his voice to Kellogg’s Tony the Tiger.

If that's not a claim to fame, what is?

He isn’t called Tony, however, and he’s not a tiger. Instead he loves jazz.

A spokesman said: “ The venue will be opening its doors for an evening of gin and cool jazz, featuring of the Premium Gin Tasting experience and Tom Hill’s Jazz Funk Machine on Saturday March 2.

“Audiences are invited to put on their bell-bottoms and platform shoes and dig the funky jazz of the 1970s when it was all about the Love baby!”

The spokesman added: “Tom Hill’s 70s Jazz Funk Machine is fronted by Tom Hill aka Tom Clarke-Hill on bass and vocals. Tom has another claim to fame; he’s none other than the smooth, deep voice of Kellogg’s Tony the Tiger! Tom’s trademark tones front a great band, alongside Matt Ratcliffe on keys, Andy Shillingford on sax, Lee Jones on guitar and Nick Milward on drums and vocals.”

Tom Hill-Clarke added: “Worcester! It’s about to get funky! Gin and gyrations to the funky jazz of the Seventies is guaranteed to get your mojo workin’! Come hang out with us. It’s gonna be GRRRRREAT!”

However, breakfast cereals will probably not be on offer

The spokesman said: “Celebrating the funky jazz of the 70s by artists like the Crusaders, Weather Report, David Sanborn, Grover Washington, George Duke and more plus vocals from the Bill Withers songbook the evening is a sure to be a crowd pleasing .

“And why not kick start the evening with a Premium Gin Tasting experience with Hussingtree Gin in The Third Place bar. Meet the team behind Worcestershire’s very own Hussingtree Gin and sample their full range of premium gins?”

Guests will enjoy a Gin cocktail on arrival, samples of the full Hussingtree Gin range, a sharing platter of food and an informal talk about Hussingtree Gin.
