EARLY birds on Monday (January 21) will be able to see a total lunar eclipse if skies stay clear.
The Moon will pass through the Earth's shadow and unlike solar eclipses, are completely safe to observe with the naked eye.
Stargazers will be able to get a spectacular view of the Moon's surface with just a pair of binoculars.
Midlanders can watch the event by looking westwards between 4.42am and 5.44am.
The moon will be 26 degrees above the horizon, halfway through the eclipse.
There will be a partial eclipse from 3.35am to 4.42am and from 5.44am to 6.51am.
The event will leave the moon a reddish colour, creating what is called a Blood Moon.
Send us your photos of the Blood Moon or post them on our Facebook Camera Club page.
