AN illegal immigrant has been arrested at a city convenience store.
South Worcestershire police’s licensing team arrested the illegal immigrant at the Warndon store.
A Home Office spokesman said: “Immigration enforcement was contacted by officers from West Mercia Police after they attended a convenience store in Worcester on Tuesday, January 15 at about 12.45pm
“Police requested immigration checks on a 28-year-old man encountered at the premises.
“The checks showed the man had entered the UK illegally and he must now report to Immigration Enforcement on a regular basis while his case is being progressed.”
West Mercia Police were unavailable for comment.
