WORK has been promised to repair a wall in Ludlow that fell down last year.

The wall in Overton Rood collapsed but no one was hurt.

However, it has resulted in one-way traffic controlled by lights.

Now Vivienne Parry, Shropshire Councillor for Ludlow South, says that she had been promised that the repair will be done, and she hopes that it will be completed by Easter.

“This has caused considerable inconvenience and it is a good job that the wall will be repaired,” said Mrs Parry.

She said that other walls in and around Ludlow are at risk because of their age and a programme of repairs is needed.

The walls are made vulnerable by the effect of water getting into the stonework and between the bricks. This then expands in the winter when it freezes.
