TWO men were taken to hospital after threatening to jump into the River Wye last night.
The fire service said that a Hereford fire crew and the brigade's rescue boat were called to the scene just after 10.15pm on January 9 following concerns for the safety of two men threatening to jump into the water on the A49 Greyfriars Bridge crossing the River Wye in Hereford.
The bridge was briefly closed to traffic whilst police officers spoke to the men and the incident was resolved safely.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said that paramedics were called by police at 10.23pm
Two ambulances attended and two male patients were treated at the scene before being conveyed to the County Hospital by ambulance for further checks.
