A charity in Bromsgrove, which gives disabled and special needs children a way of experiencing the countryside, has received a much appreciated new years cash boost.
60 riders took part in a fun cycle ride from The Nailers Arms in Bournheath to Bayleys Bar in the High Street in December, raising a total of £854.35 for the charity.
Dodford Children’s Holiday Farm, on Warbage Lane, offer short breaks to children who are less fortunate than most and particularly those living in deprived areas.
All of te cyclists were dressed as Father Christmas after the event was organised by Sid and Steph Griffin and Sid's band 'Dirty Lemonz' played an acoustic set at the Nailers Arms with Nick Griffin.
Kelly Broadfield, Manager at Dodford Children’s Holiday Farm, said:
“We were delighted when Sid Griffin said he would like to raise money for the charity.
"The amount raised is phenomenal and we cannot thank the organisers and participants enough.
"Myself and a few others from the charity also took part and we thoroughly enjoyed it, the people of Bromsgrove were so generous along the way particularly those driving past the ‘Santas’ at Baileys Bar, several of whom put £10 notes in the collection tins!”
