A new ‘Worcestershire’ brand has been launched following a meeting of some of the highest profile business leaders in the county.

At the 2018 Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership Conference at Chateu Impney in Droitwich, business leaders met to announce plans to give an identity to businesses inside the county and attract outside investment.

The brand has been made to appeal to people of all ages and showcase Worcestershire as an exceptional place to live, work, visit and invest through marketing and promoting Worcestershire businesses.

Business leaders from big names such as: Worcester Bosch, Gtech, Morgan Motors, Worcester Warriors, University of Worcester, West Midland Safari Park and Heller Machine Tools all endorsed the brand, which will be managed by a partnership of Worcestershire LEP, Worcestershire County Council, communications agency drp, Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce and all six district councils.

Gary Woodman, chief executive of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “The new Worcestershire profile strives to provide businesses with a brand they can support and represent not just nationally, but internationally as well.

"This presents a fantastic opportunity for companies of all sizes to promote the county to a multitude of audiences, allowing Worcestershire to be recognised as a connected, creative and dynamic county.

"I would strongly urge businesses to get involved and become champions of the brand to help us celebrate and spread the message of Worcestershire. ”

Over 400 businesses witnessed the launch of the brand at Worcestershire LEP’s 2018 Annual Conference.

According to the brand's website, Worcestershire has been recognised as one of the top places in the UK for business start-ups, with over 38,000 registered companies.

In addition, tourism to the county brought in £866 million directly in 2017.

Worcestershire is also home to the largest collection of cyber security firms outside London.

Businesses are being invited to help to tell the Worcestershire story and promote the county regionally, nationally and internationally.
