Arrange My Escape, in Mealcheapen Street, Worcester, is an independent travel agents specialising in bespoke holidays around the world and General Manager Jennifer Lynch says teamwork and freedom are the keys to the business’ success.

Jennifer, 34, is originally from Cardiff and says she did not intend to work in travel.

She said: “I did a travel and tourism course at college because I was always interested in travel. If I’m honest I didn’t really intend to get into the business. I got some work experience with a travel agent, enjoyed it, and the rest is history.”

Arrange My Escape started as a travel agents in 1990 catering exclusively for business customers. Jennifer was brought in when the firm decided to set up a holiday travel agency,

being put in charge of setting up the branch in Mealcheapen Street in April 2017.

Looking back, Jennifer says setting up the business was difficult but rewarding: “We had to get everything from the ground up so we had to get premises, renovate and everything else that goes with it.

“It was really difficult but it was definitely worth it as the company gave me a lot of freedom to make this place what I wanted it to be.

“What we have here is a lot of freedom when it comes to helping people. At a lot of high street travel agents you are limited to certain providers whereas here customers have a lot more choice.

“We only have a small team here, there are only five of us, but that helps create a really tight unit and none of the success we have had as a business would have been possible without them.

“It is incredibly rewarding to give someone a holiday they are really happy with and when it comes to safety and comfort we make sure we plan them as if they were our own holidays. I never want to sell someone a holiday that they do not want.”

Arrange My Escape also took home the Retail Business Visit award at the Worcester BID awards in November, impressing an anonymous judge with their customer service.
