A SALON in Worcester is helping out some four-legged friends this Christmas by offering discounts on haircuts in exchange for donations of pet food and other treats for dogs.
Customers at Le Salon in Bath Road, Worcester, can get a five per cent discount if they bring in dog food, treats, blankets or toys, throughout this month.
All of these items will then be handed over to Worcestershire Animal Rescue shelter in Newland, Malvern, for the dogs based there to enjoy.
Tony Hare, owner of Le Salon, said the initiative was something the business had been doing for 15 years in order to ensure that more dogs enjoy their Christmas.
"It’s our way of giving back to the dogs at Christmas, because no one really thinks about dogs at Christmas,” said Mr Hare.
Mr Hare who has always had rescue dogs at home, added: “It’s just to show the dogs they are loved at Christmas.”
Staff at the rescue shelter were said to be delighted by the generosity of staff at Le Salon.
For more information on the rescue shelter, visit its base in Hawthorn Lane, Newland, Malvern, or call 01905 83165. Opening hours at the centre are listed as 11am to 3pm, seven days a week.
