THE creation of Madley Recreation Ground is a step closer to completion thanks to a donation of £1,500 from ETL Systems.

The project is currently in its proposal stage and if successful will see a playground built for children aged 1 to 12 years.

Corinne Cranham, who set up the project, said: “This playground will provide much needed facilities for the local community, enabling families to enjoy the outdoor space together. We have been overwhelmed with the fantastic response from local charities and companies. This donation from ETL Systems will go a long way to helping us make this a reality.”

Ian Hilditch, CEO of the company which specialises in equipment for the satellite industry, said: "ETL has worked alongside many community projects in our local area and we felt this was a worthwhile development and something we wanted to lend our support to.

"It is so important that children have somewhere to explore and let their imaginations grow and I truly believe this site will be enjoyed by many children of all ages for many years to come. Many of our staff have children and are based in the local area, so will also benefit greatly from this new amenity.”

ETL Systems will be recognised with its name on a plinth in the playground.
