FORMER Kidderminster Harriers director Ernie Lane has died, aged 85.
Mr Lane, who remained a devoted supporter of the club well after his retirement, passed away in his sleep on Thursday, November 8.
A club spokesman said: "Harriers are deeply saddened to have learned of the passing of former director, Ernie Lane.
"To say Ernie was a staunch Harriers supporter who contributed much to the club would be an immense understatement.
"Ernie had been watching games at Aggborough since our time in the Football League and was almost an ever-present for match day hospitality at the Aggborough Suite, including this season’s games.
"He served as a director of the club alongside his wife, the late Kath Lane, between 2012 and 2014, during which time the two were enormously influential in the positives times the club and its fans were able to enjoy.
"Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time – his presence around Aggborough on a match day will be much, much missed.
"Thank you for everything, Ernie and Kath."
