THE giraffes that were auctioned after being part of a popular trail have gone to their new homes.

The Worcester Stands Tall art trail raised £210,400 for the St Richard’s Hospice Build 2020 Appeal.

St Richard’s Hospice has not yet released details but the Worcester News tracked down some of the giraffes in their new homes.

Girafficus has gone to Kempsey Primary School, near Worcester. The artist, Chris Morgan, previously worked in partnership with his late wife, Valerie Osment, who was a popular Wild in Art artist. Since his wife’s passing in 2017, he decided to keep the legacy of her public work alive by continuing to produce thought-provoking and vibrant sculpture designs.

LSE Lighting, based in Worcester, has bought the colourful sculpture, Diversity is Us.

The Artist, Amrit Singh, designed the sculpture and found inspiration from various world cultures and amplifies it thorough his story telling.

A Tall Order, created by Linda Davies, has been bought by Worcester Sixth Form, in Spetchley Road.

Sophie Green was the creator of the sculpture Bones, which was located on the High Street. Sophie’s design, based on an x-ray, explores what we see inside. Arctic Spa UK have bought Bones.

Giraffa Cameleondalis, situated in Castle Street, was created by Matthew Smith. He is an Illustration graduate living in Worcester and is active in online art. The giraffe has been bought by Worcester Bosch.

Gregory is based on the giraffe’s distinctive coat pattern and the Worcester Pear, designed by Suzie Elizabeth Hunt. Hewett Recruitment is now the owner of Gregory.

The giraffe Snowdrop has been donated back to St Richard’s Hospice. It launched the Save Our Snowdrop campaign to buy the giraffe which was painted by Katie Hodgetts, an artist whose grandfather was cared for by the hospice before he died in 2016.

Bumble, who was located at The Hive, has been bought by Light House Media. Traci Moss was the designer behind the sculpture. Her inspiration for the project was a bee. The style is bright and cheerful.

Tim Crowley and Julie Turner, who work for Age UK Worcester and District, are the proud owners of the giraffe calf Lily the Pink.
