HOPE Valley Run returned for its 14th year despite Storm Callum- with a star participant joining in the fundraising fun.

TV actor Perry Benson joined runners in the charity event, which takes place every year around the countryside near Woolhope.

Perry is best known for his role in the hit ITV comedy Benidorm and he has also starred in the films Sid and Nancy and Final Cut, along with the BBC series The Good Guys.

The run took place on October 14 and saw hundreds of runners take on the multi-terrain 8.3 mile course and a 4.3 mile fun run, as Storm Callum raged against the county.

This year's run raised funds for Army Benevolent Fund, a charity which supports soldiers and veterans of the British Army and their families.

The bad weather caused by Storm Callum did not dampen the determination of the runners to take part.

Organiser Ronnie Scully said she was very pleased with the turn out, even though the weather was not 'particularly kind'.
