RUGBY players will be coming together to take part in a fundraising game in Chaddesley Corbett to support the military and their families.

Combined Services Barbarians will take on Chaddesley Corbett RFC on the eve of Remembrance Sunday in aid of the Royal British Legion and Rock2Recovery charities.

All proceeds from the ‘Armistice Fundraiser’ game will go directly to the charities.

The Barbarians are made up of current and former members of the forces from across the UK and they were formed to help boost charities that directly help the military and their families.

Daniel Browning, Organiser and Barbarian player, said: “We came together from across the UK to play in what was originally going to be a one off match.

“It didn't take us long to decide to continue together on the playing field as we have done on deployment overseas.

“All the profits we raise go directly to the chosen charities. None of us take any wages and all players pay for their own travelling costs. We have no physical club and will remain an independent team.

“We are extremely grateful to our sponsors Capula, who have enabled the purchase of the player's kits.

The match at Chaddesley Corbett RFC’s Fox Lane ground kicks off at 1pm. Entry is £2 and will also feature live music and an auction amongst other activities.
