A RESCUE dog who has not had the best start to life is hoping for a happier future in a new home.

George is a 14-month-old white and tan staffie cross in the care of RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch through no fault of his own.

He is looking for a quiet home where he will get lots of love and understanding.

Geraldine Haynes, branch trustee, said: "George has not had a good start in life but he is sweet natured, friendly and affectionate.

"Being a youngster, he has lots of energy and would benefit from training classes. He loves company and long walks."

George is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

If you feel you could offer him his forever home, please ring Geraldine on 01886 822083.

Visit the branch website for more rescued animals seeking adoption at rspca-worcester.org or call Geraldine for dogs on the number above or The Holdings Rescue Centre on 07484 905707 for cats and rabbits.

The centre in Holdings Lane, Broomhall, Kempsey, Worcester WR5 3FP is open for people to meet the cats and rabbits between 11am and 4pm every day except Wednesdays. Dogs are still boarded at private boarding kennels until funds have been raised to build the kennel block.

Everyone is welcome to the branch's rearranged Open Day this Sunday, April 15, between 10.30am to 3pm at The Holdings to celebrate the opening of the charity's new Rabbit House. Mrs Haynes added: "There will be lots of stalls and refreshments. Please support your local branch of the RSPCA, who help many unwanted, abused and neglected animals from Worcestershire."
