DYSON Perrins Church of England Academy, in Malvern, is to have a new head teacher from September.
The new head will be Mike Gunston, currently head of the John of Gaunt School in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.
The present head, Stuart Wetson, leaves at the end of this term to become head of St Mary’s RC High School in Lugwardine.
Pete Wallace, the current deputy head, will take on the role of acting head from April to August.
Paul Charman, the chairman of the governors, said: "Dyson Perrins is a good school and we attracted a large, strong field of applicants for the headteacher role.
"Following a rigorous interview process, the governors were very clear that Mike was the right
person to lead Dyson Perrins forward.
"Mike enjoys working as a hands-on, dynamic and visible leader. He brings experience as a headteacher, a track record of leading a good school, and a belief in working collaboratively with other schools.
"Mike is looking forward to leading an inclusive, church school community underpinned by our Christian values.
"He is passionate about developing and building effective teams, and will lead our strong team of teachers and support staff to ensure that students have the very best opportunities for high-quality teaching and learning."
