A POP-UP shop on Hereford’s Widemarsh Street opens today, selling Christmas cards for more than 25 local and national charities.

Cards for Good Causes is the UK’s largest multi-charity Christmas Card organisation, and its Hereford will include cards from St Michael’s Hospice, Concern Universal and Herefordshire Nature Trust.

“Christmas cards are an important source of funding for charities, and they also help to raise awareness of their work,” said area organiser Pauline Jenkins.

“You’ll find us by following our distinctive triangular red Santa sign in Widemarsh Street opposite the butchers.”

The store, which opened with the help of estate agent Bill Jackson, will also stock wrapping paper and gift tags.

In the past five years, Cards for Good Causes have raised more than £20 million for charities nationwide, and this year the Hereford store will become part of their national network.

The shop will be open Monday to Saturday, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
