An education expert from Scotland is taking up a new role as a senior education specialist for the World Bank.
Anna Boni will leave Education Scotland after 14 years to move to Washington and work with Middle Eastern and North African governments for the World Bank to help them change their education systems.
Ms Boni started as an inspector at Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education and most recently led Education Scotland’s international work.
She said: “The World Bank clearly recognises the importance of education in improving the life chances of people across the world.
“I’ll be taking our excellent Scottish practice with me to support educational change and improvement in these countries.
“Scottish education is highly respected across the international community and the knowledge and skills I’ve gained at Education Scotland will be invaluable.”
