GRITTERS will be out once again tonight from around 7pm treating roads as temperatures are set to dip below freezing once more.

Rain showers, sometimes heavy, will subside late this afternoon and a relatively dry night is expected. However, sub-zero conditions are expected bringing the risk of icy patches and hoar frost on previously wet or damp surfaces.

Worcestershire County Council's 31 vehicles will be treating designated routes (around 800 miles worth of roads) but motorists are being asked to drive with caution and never assume that just because a road has been gritted it's safe to travel at normal speeds.

For more information about gritting operations visit the dedicated section on the County Council's website www.worcestershire.gov.uk/gritting 'Gritter Twitter' will continue to be updated with details on what gritting teams are doing to make things safer on the roads and safety advice.
