THE search is on for a manager for the proposed Alfrick and Lulsley community shop.
The project aims to open next spring and management committee chairman Alan Soper said there has been good progress with funding.
“In a few weeks we have achieved almost half of our £20,000 target,” he said. “The message is very clear that the community needs and wants a village shop and post office.
A job description and details of how to apply can be found at alfrickandlulsley.org/shop.
The next opportunity to buy shares in the venture or find out about volunteering, is tomorrow (Saturday, October 29) at 10 am during a breakfast meeting in Alfrick Village Hall.
The shop will be located in the grounds of the hall in a temporary building. But the aim is to build new premises after a minimum of two years' trading.
