A FAREWELL gig in memory of a much-loved musician who used to play in and around Malvern and Ledbury takes place next week.

Alf Stokes, who died unexpectedly in June aged 60, will be remembered from 7.30pm on Thursday, October 27 at the Roundhouse in Birmingham with a variety of music, including the works of his favourite artist Bob Dylan.

The bassist and singer clocked up 1,080 gigs in his life after making his musical debut in Colwall’s Horse and Jockey in 1968.

Friends and family will take to the stage with the Roundhouse’s house band to pay tribute to him.
