THE new president of the Inner Wheel Club of Malvern is Jacqueline Tanner, who featured recently in the Gazette as a survivor of the wartime sinking of the Lancastria.
Mrs Tanner has chosen the Peace of Mind Appeal, which is funding the new dementia unit at Davenham, in Moorlands Road, as her charity for this year.
The Inner Wheel will be organising various events over the year, including a ferret race and a ladies evening, in support of this charity.
Sylvia Miles of Inner Wheel said: "We hope everyone will support this project as they supported outgoing president Mrs Val George in raising funds to support the new Malvern hospital."
