A PLANNING application to build houses on land behind Belmont Road in North Malvern has been refused permission.
The application, made by Mr J Brook, called for the building of a terrace of three houses.
Residents of Belmont Road, Clayfield Road and Clayfield Close made objections to the plan.
They said that the access is not suitable and that the lack of on-site parking would mean increased parking on Belmont Road.
They also said the plan was an overdevelopment of the site that would overshadow nearby homes and encroach on their privacy.
The highway authority recommended refusal on grounds of inadequate access and restricted visibility.
Members of Malvern Hills District Council’s southern area development control committee voted against the plan.
