MALVERN singing sensation Cher Lloyd performed a triumphant homecoming gig this week.

The former X Factor contestant took to the stage at Tramps nightclub in Angel Place, Worcester, to perform two shows for her local fans.

The gig was held after her two previously scheduled shows at the club on Monday, December 20, had to be cancelled when only 100 fans made it to the club because of the wintry weather, despite the fact the show was almost a sell-out.

The 17-year-old from Malvern Link confidently sang and rapped her way through some of her well-known performances from the ITV show as well as a few new numbers. Wearing a furry jumper, skinny jeans, knee-high stiletto boots and showing off her new red hair which was teased into a curly mohican, Cher sang No Diggity’s Shout, her infamous audition song Turn My Swag On, and The Clapping Song, which she sang during her final night on the X Factor.

During her set, the former Dyson Perrins High School pupil also launched into a crowd-pleasing rendition of Boom (Shake The Room) by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince before singing the recent chart smash Whip Your Hair by Will Smith’s 10-year-old daughter, Willow.

Monday's (January 3) double gig to crowds of under-18s and over-18s follows her successful performance at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern last month as she prepared for the finals of the X Factor.

Cher eventually came fourth in the competition, losing out to boy band One Direction, Rebecca Ferguson and the show’s eventual winner, Matt Cardle.

However, as we recently reported, despite being beaten by Matt to the X Factor crown Cher was nevertheless the most talked-about new celebrity last year, according to an internet survey.
