A LANTERN lantern parade and carol singing held in Malvern town centre on Saturday, December 18, was a great success, despite the snowy weather.
Children with lanterns processed down Church Street to a storytelling session at Lyttelton Well, although the proposed procession back up to St Ann's Well was cancelled because of the conditions.
Later in the evening, participants serenaded the customers at Pepper and Oz restaurant and the Unicorn Inn, and sold raffle tickets.
"Despite the weather conditions, we managed to raise a total of £334.74," said Rev Val Needham, who organised it. The money will be split between the Safe Haven for Donkeys Sanctuary, and the Colour Wheel appeal for Canine Partners.
"It was a fabulous event and everyone really enjoyed it," she said. "We're definitely going to do it again next year."
