A FORMER psychiatric hospital at Link Top, Malvern, could be converted into four town houses.
The application, submitted by G and A Gallop of Harvington, near Kidderminster, is for St Ann's Orchard, which stands off Worcester Road on the edge of the Link Common.
The building is located in the Link Conservation Area and is itself Grade II listed. It was originally a house and has been extended and used for a number of different purposes over the years. Most recently, it was an NHS psychiatric hospital, which was subsequently closed.
In the application, agents EJ Planning said: "The site has been actively marketed for a number of years without serious interest from any end use other than residential. A residential use is likely to represent the most appropriate use to ensure the long-term stewardship of the building and its grounds."
