TWO men were treated for burns following a fire near a shop in Elgar Avenue, Malvern.
The fire is thought to have started on a mattress near a garage behind Elgar Stores, between 11pm and 11.30pm on Wednesday, December 8.
Two fire engines from Malvern were called out and crews using hose reels doused the blaze. An ambulance attended the scene, and two men were treated by paramedics for burns.
Det Con Jez Hazlewood said police were looking for witnesses. He added: “A man in his 20s was seen in the area around the time of the fire and we would like this man to contact us immediately. We would also like to hear from anyone who knows the identity of this man.”
The man is described as around 5’9’’ to 5’ 10’’ tall and was wearing a grey hooded top and a grey hat with pieces covering his ears.
Police are treating the fire as suspected arson, and anyone with any information is asked to call 0300 333 3000, quoting 740/S/081210, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
