A FORMER fireman described as a “daredevil” enjoyed a visit from two former colleagues.
Ted Lilley, 76, a resident at Springs Nursing Home, Malvern, who was a retained fireman in the town for 19 years was visited by Keith Massam and Rodger Kirkwood last Friday (December 3).
Eileen Barker, who works at the home, was full of praise for the visiting firemen.
She said: “They were fantastic. The light they brought into his eyes and how he burst out laughing when they sounded the siren. It was something that he always used to enjoy.”
Ted’s wife Dot said her husband “lived for it” and she liked to remember the funny things from his time as a fireman.
Mr Lilley met his wife in Colwall and spent time in both the army and the merchant navy.
