A LONG serving Malvern Rotarian was “honoured and humbled” to receive the highest honour the club can bestow.
Michael Barraclough’s 24 years of service to Rotary, as well as his tireless work as treasurer of the League of Friends of Malvern Community Hospital, has seen him awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship - reserved for those who give “exceptional service”.
Mr Barraclough, a former president of Malvern Rotary, was told of the award at the club’s latest meeting. Malvern Gazette editor John Murphy officially presented it to him on Friday (December 3).
“I felt very honoured and humbled, because I didn’t think that I had done anything more than one would normally expect of a Rotarian,” he said.
Mr Barraclough, who is 78, remains committed to his roles with both Rotary and the League of Friends.
