THE Malvern Showground – home of the Three Counties Agricultural Society - has achieved official approval for its environmental management scheme.
Months of planning and the gradual implementation of effective environmental practices at the 90 acre site on Blackmore Park Road, have finally paid off, and the Society has achieved its ISO 14001 accreditation.
This is an internationally-accepted standard which sets out how organisations can put in place an effective Environmental Management system, which maintains profitability but reduces the impact on precious resources.
Malvern Showground chief executive, Nick Vincent, said: “Considering our carbon footprint and implementing sustainable business operations is vital in this day and age, and we want to encourage all those who visit the Shows, or exhibit at the Showground to follow suit.
“I am delighted that our efforts over the past year have been rewarded.”
