MALVERN mums and Malvern locations feature on a new charity calendar.
The Hereford and Worcester Breastfeeding Calendar for 2011 is a calendar to promote breastfeeding in public places and raise funds for local breastfeeding support groups.
Breastfeeding mums and their babies are featured in places like Malvern Library, the Winter Gardens and Clive’s Fruit Farm in Upton.
The calendar is the brainchild of mum and town photographer Theresa Furey who found the National Childbirth Trust’s breast feeding support group a great way to meet other mums, make friends and settle into the community when she moved to Malvern with a new baby more than a year ago.
“I am a big supporter of breastfeeding and having talked to lots of mums. I know people’s experiences are very different and I know how important breastfeeding support groups can be,” explained Theresa.
She thought a calendar featuring mums from across Herefordshire and Worcestershire and featuring local places would be a good way to promote breastfeeding and encourage mums to feed in public.
“The places we photographed were all very helpful and the attitude was very positive,” explained Theresa.
She advertised for would-be model mums through local breastfeeding groups and Worcester Netmums.
Proceeds from the calendar will be divided between the various breastfeeding support groups operating within Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
The calendar is on sale for £15 plus postage and is available through the calendar website at breastfeedingcalendar.wordpress.com/orby. Alternatively people can email info@egginthenestphotography.com.
