THE former chief executive of rural pressure group the Countryside Alliance will be the guest speaker at the West Worcestershire Conservative Association's annual dinner.
Simon Hart was elected MP for West Carmarthen and South Pembrokeshire at this year's election, but he is best known for leading the Alliance in its campaigns on a variety of rural issues, especially the opposition to the ban on hunting, but also to retain rural post offices and schools, flood protection, agricultural deregulation and fuel pricing.
It was for this work that Channel 4 News voted him the Political Personality of the Decade.
The dinner is on Friday, November 19, at the Gryphon Room, Malvern College. Local MP Harriett Baldwin and her predecessor, Lord Spicer, and their spouses, will also be in attendance.
