ALL eyes were on a Malvern teenager on Saturday when she successfully auditioned for ITV1’s X Factor.
Facing the judges was 16-year-old Cher Lloyd – who has already proved herself a winner back home in Worcestershire.
The youngster wowed the judges with Keri Hilson’s version of Soulja Boy’s Turn My Swag On, especially Cheryl Cole, who told her: “You are right up my street. You are actually my favourite audition so far. Little bit of attitude there, I like it.”
It’s not the first time Miss Lloyd has impressed an audience. Earlier this year, she came second in Sin and Bushwackers’ Text Factor competition, bagging herself the £1,000 runners-up prize.
During that contest, Miss Lloyd wowed the crowd with her rendition of Lady Gaga’s Telephone, and came second to student Ellice Chidlow from Hereford.
The former Dyson Perrins High School pupil has a Facebook group – Cher Lloyd XFactor 2010 – to support her, which already has hundreds of fans.
We previously reported that, back in 2008, Miss Lloyd also won solo female at the Pop Idols 2008 contest for Worcestershire youngsters.
She also won best upper school solo act at a Dyson Perrins House Music competition in 2007.
