FLORENCE Nightingale came to Malvern ten times when she was ill to take the water cure and 2010 is the centenary of her death.

Malvern Museum has a new Florence Nightingale display this year and has also organised two events relating to her life. The first event is a talk by Lucy Adlington from the History Wardrobe entitled Florence Nightingale, the Respectable Rebel.

This is on Friday, August 13, at 7.30pm at Great Malvern Priory.

The second event is an illustrated and dramatised talk, Florence Nightingale and the Malvern Water Cure. This is on Saturday, October 9, at 2pm and 7.30pm, at the Coach House Theatre, Grange Road.

Tickets for all of these events are £5 and are now available from the museum on 01684 567811, the tourist information centre on 01684 892289 or by emailing Gillian.b.butler@btinternet.com.
