NO action will be taken against Conservative party members for their actions in the run-up to and during a chaotic political visit to Malvern during the election campaign.
Just six days before the country went to the polls, tempers spilled over in the hotly-contested West Worcestershire seat when Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg, who is now deputy Prime Minister, arrived at the Nag’s Head pub.
We reported how police officers dragged West Worcestershire Conservatives chairman Dr Ken Pollock away from Mr Clegg after he was said to have “lunged” at him while an e-mail calling on Tory supporters to disrupt the event by posing as “aggravated residents” had previously been sent out by a young activist.
An investigation was immediately launched by the West Worcestershire Conservative Association. Now, two months later, that has been brought to a close following a meeting of the executive council at Powick Parish Hall.
Dr Pollock said the situation was discussed and the council was satisfied it did not need to take any action against anybody.
